Job Responsibilities
As a Long Haul Truck Driver, your duties may include:
- Operating straight or articulated trucks to transport goods across Canada and international routes.
- Planning efficient routes using GPS and navigation systems.
- Loading and unloading cargo safely.
- Performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Inspecting tires, brakes, lights, and vehicle equipment.
- Recording cargo details, fuel usage, mileage, and working hours.
- Communicating with central dispatch.
- Performing basic roadside repairs when required.
- Ensuring cargo is secured safely during transportation.
- Providing professional customer service during deliveries.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should have:
- Secondary (High School) Graduation Certificate.
- No previous experience required (Employer provides training).
- Good English communication skills.
- AZ Class Driver’s License.
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel long distances and overnight.
- Ability to relocate if required.
- Good physical fitness for loading and unloading cargo.
